My thoughts on Fallout 4 (slight spoilers)

"Why do the birds go on singing?
Why do the stars glow above?
Don't they know it's the end of the world?
It ended when I lost your love"

While I've only played Fallout 4 for less than 10 hours (which I cannot believe, I swear it's way more than that), I've already grown an apprecieation. And as you can tell by that introduction, Diamond City radio's tracklist fell into my ear. I haven't heard much of the soundtrack after the prologue, because I put on a station the moment I saw the 'Signal found' pop-up and can't imagine playing without one now.

When it comes to how I ended up playing the game, I got a cheap Xbox game pass ultimate key off of the Internet so I had something to do during winter break from school. Fallout 4 ended up being one of the games I downloaded just to fill up some disk space, along with Superliminal and Sunset Overdrive. I've never played a Fallout game before, so I decided to give this one a go.

When it comes to how I actually feel about the game itself... I don't know what to say really, and in a good way. The atmosphere is just simply amazing. Getting out of the vault and exploring your dilapitated house for the first time in 200 years with a moody song in the background... I don't think I would've had quite the same experience had I been playing with a mouse and keyboard on PC. The controller just kind of melts into your hands, becoming an extension of your body of sorts.

What I really like about the game's atmosphere however is how versitile it is. One second you're slowly strolling through the wastelands with a radio station playing in the background whilst taking in the sights, when suddenly some radrats or bandits appear and the same song becomes a weirdly uplifting battle theme. But perhaps that's just how I perceive it.

Codsworth is funny and surprisingly badass in battle for a robot meant for housework.
